So I am an idiot!

When moving the 40-pin connector to reduce the interference with the power plug. I MOVED IT IN THE WRONG DIRECTION!

Attached is a revised layout. This one should NOT interfere with the power plug.

Gerber replaced with an update - see later post.

Pete - yes this design will allow the right-angle joystick ports as Camputers intended!

I have revised the OshPark design too, but the link will change.

What PCB options do you guys recommend? JLCPCB has many more options than OshPark offers. PCB finish and copper thickness are the two I am not sure on. The defaults I expect are fine, but I do think the red PCB option is sexy!

I have always used successfully default options except PCB color and yes, red PCBs are sexy!, I've ordered some of them time ago and they look great . Green is the cheapest color tho...

Since this is my first order, I went with the defaults. I also liked the idea of green - traditional! Different colours for different revisions, maybe? Not that there will be any for this PCB!

Wow Mike, that seemed fast! Was that some extra cost fast shipping option, or is that standard for JLCPCB?

I'm about to send in my second revision of the Lynx DOS board for fabrication and wondered how long I have to wait before being able to assemble and test.

It was fast! It was ordered on 12/12/2020 and arrived on Friday (18/12/2020). It was shipped by DHL - the only shipper I was offered for my location. The boards cost ￡1.52, and shipping cost was ￡11.22. I am amazed at how quickly it was manufactured and arrived. It was shipped from Shenzen via Hong Kong.

I ordered some other components from a UK seller at much the same time, but it hasn't arrived yet. (via Royal Mail, I think)

Hi Mike! If you want to learn PCB design software, I recommend you learn how to handle Kicad. KiCad is a free, open source and with no limitations software. What you can do with KiCAd? Well the Oric Micro disc controller was made with Kicad, this is a small sample of what KiCad can do.

2021 is going to be the year of the Camputers Lynx, it's like a great set-up. In addition to the emulators, the enthusiasts already have a core in FPGA to which we will try to add everything we can learn.-
